Tickets for the 38th Macao International Music Festival on sale from Sunday
MACAU, September 11 - Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the 38th Macao International Music Festival (MIMF) will be held from 2 October to 29 November. Tickets will be on sale simultaneously through the Enjoy Macau Ticketing outlets, telephone and online booking from 10am on 13 September.
Themed “Silk Resonances”, this edition of the Festival features 10 exceptional programmes presented by renowned artists and emerging talents, offering music aficionados a musical feast that blends with the cultural encounters along the Silk Road. The opening performance My Grand View Garden – Yue Opera by Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Troupe, features the first-class actress Chen Lijun, taking the audiences to indulge themselves in a dream where traditional opera and modern aesthetics intertwine. Turandot – Opera in Three Acts by Giacomo Puccini, directed by international superstar Jackie Chan in his operatic directorial debut, conducted by Carlo Montanaro, features majestic orchestration and powerful choruses, with the strains of Chinese folk song Jasmine Flower (Mo Li Hua) echoing throughout intertwined with the classic aria Nessun Dorma ('None shall sleep'), showcasing the charm of opera over the past century. The year 2026 marks the China-Brazil Cultural Year. Supported by the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the Macao Special Administrative Region and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Federative Republic of Brazil, the concert Brazilian Body Beats by Barbatuques turns bodies into instruments, offering a vibrant music experience.
In addition to the concert Lang Lang in Recital: Iberian Rhapsody, the “Lang Lang - Beyond Boundaries Series”, the highlight of this year’s Festival, features a Piano Camp, to be held from 10 to 25 October, under the mentor of senior piano professors appointed by Lang Lang’s team. Students who meet the attendance requirements will be awarded certificates and may have the opportunity to perform on stage with Lang Lang. Eligible applicants must be holders of a Macao Resident Identity Card who was born between 2008 and 2018. 30 places are available. Applications are open from now until 5pm on 26 September. Various discounts are available for this year’s MIMF. An early bird discount of 30%, subject to certain criteria, is available from 13 to 20 September. On the first day of sales, ticket purchases are limited to a maximum of 10 tickets per performance per person. Ticket purchases for the Grand Opening My Grand View Garden – Yue Opera are limited to a maximum of 4 tickets per performance per person. Free tickets for the “Floating Notes Across the City” Orchestra Reimagined: wHiRlwiND activity by thetiredeyes will be distributed from 10am on 13 September through the Enjoy Macao Ticketing outlets and website. Distribution is limited to a maximum of 2 tickets per person. Registration for some of the “Floating Notes Across the City” activity is available through the “Activity Applications” of the Macao One Account (activity.mo.gov.mo/activity-h5/activity-list-web) from 10am on 14 September.
